On Saturday, 11.07.2020, on the planned final day of Wimbledon, the new tennis centre court was opened in the Kurpark Bad Homburg. In addition to Angelique Kerber, Germany's top tennis player, Rainer Schüttler also inaugurated the new court in Bad Homburg. Angelique Kerber, the former world no. 1, was also made an honorary member of the German Tennis Federation on Saturday for her outstanding services to German tennis.
The event took place under strict Corona regulations and with the exclusion of the public. blackolive CEO Rainer Hamacher was one of the few invited guests at the spectacular opening. "As a passionate tennis player, we are very pleased to be able to support the court as a sponsor," said Hamacher.
The first edition of the Bad Homburg Open was postponed from this year to mid-2021 due to the Corona pandemic.
